One of the world’s rarest
natural graphite resources.

Long before silicon, before steel, before industry knew its name - carbon was folding itself into perfect hexagons, deep beneath Sri Lanka.

/ A geological gift

The Ragedara vein graphite deposit is one of the world’s rarest and highest-quality natural graphite resources. Unlike conventional open-pit mines, our operations use environmentally responsible underground methods with minimal surface impact. Our veins naturally contain exceptional carbon purity from 97% to 99.99%.

/ A historical position

Operating since the 1800s, Ragedara has long been one of the world’s most significant graphite mines. During the World War II era, exports reportedly reached nearly 18,000 metric tons annually - supplying premium graphite as a global benchmark for quality and performance.

/ A modern responsibility

Today, Graphenera focuses on transforming premium Sri Lankan vein graphite into advanced value-added carbon materials - mono-layer and few-layer graphene, GO dispersions, reduced graphene oxide, conductive graphite, and high-performance industrial grease.

99.99% before we begin.

Most graphene producers start with synthetic precursors at 95-98% carbon. We start with naturally crystallised vein graphite that exceeds 99.99% purity before any processing.

Characterised at every step. Verified independently.

Our materials undergo continuous scientific characterisation and quality verification using advanced analytical methods. We do not ship material we cannot explain in spectra - and we share those spectra with anyone serious enough to ask.

We work closely with researchers, engineers, laboratories, and industrial partners - including the Industrial Technology Institute (ITI), Sri Lanka and international university partners - to ensure consistent material quality and reliable performance.

Tested by NUS Singapore. Top rankings, multiple categories.

Graphenera materials have gained international recognition through continuous research, development and performance evaluation.

In 2016, graphene materials derived from Sri Lankan vein graphite were tested by the National University of Singapore (NUS) in an international graphene evaluation programme, where the material achieved top rankings across multiple performance categories.

This recognition reinforced the exceptional quality of Sri Lankan vein graphite as one of the finest natural sources for advanced graphene production.

- 06 / Sustainability

Green graphene. By geology and design.

Graphenera is committed to environmentally responsible mining and advanced material production. Sustainability is not bolted onto our process - it is a consequence of starting with a naturally pure source.

Our underground vein mining method minimises land disturbance while supporting long-term sustainable resource utilisation and high-value material innovation.

Ethical operations

Strict no-child-labour policies. Safe working environments, ethical sourcing standards, and long-term employee welfare commitments at every level.

/ 04
Minimal chemistry

Because the source starts at 97–99.99% pure, we do not need aggressive chemistry to bring it to specification. The geology has done the work.

Excellence is not added. It is exposed.
